About the Role:
Axiom is seeking a highly motivated and thoughtful Talent Success Manager to support our talent experience for our growing population of legal talent. As a critical member of our Commercial Team, you will guide Axiom legal talent throughout their Axiom experience, ensuring their skills are matched to exciting client opportunities.
Focusing on a group of lawyers and legal professionals across one or more practice areas in Asia, you will have the engagement of our legal talent at the forefront of your mind at all times. Working in close partnership with our Talent Acquisition and Sales teams, you will provide advice and guidance to ensure we are hiring the right legal talent population to meet the demand from Axiom's clients, and present client opportunities to our legal talent to ensure they have career-enhancing opportunities available to them.
This is an opportunity to be part of an exciting and innovative team driving change within Axiom and the wider legal community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with a group of lawyers and legal professionals in defined legal practice areas to provide a next-level Axiom client and Axiom legal talent experience.
- Managing our legal talent, from hire through retire, to provide a best-in-class talent and client experience.
- Developing a deep understanding of the skills, practice areas, and industry experience of our legal talent and specific legal practice areas, including being an authority on the state of the legal market and the practice areas.
- Delivering against client requests for talent in your legal practice areas, managing a portfolio of client opportunities, and working directly with our Sales team and clients as appropriate to drive and win deals, with a direct contribution to company revenue and growth.
- Deploying an expert knowledge of our legal talent to help shape client needs and identify talent who effectively meets their requirements.
- Developing compelling recommendations for clients, liaising with our Sales team and the client to ensure the match, and successfully closing each engagement in partnership with our Sales team.
- Building strong relationships with legal talent and managing communications throughout the engagement process, including generating interest in relevant engagement opportunities.
- Managing client expectations and working with internal cross-functional teams to meet desired end-in-mind results and ensure targets are achieved.
- Developing a deep understanding of successful client and talent management and continuing to develop sales and talent management skillsets to ensure success.
- Interviewing and assessing candidates in your practice areas, alongside our Talent Acquisition team and Axiom lawyers (where appropriate), and together agreeing on hiring decisions.
- Partnering with our Talent Acquisition team to strategically build your talent bench based on supply and demand trends in your practice areas.
- Strategically focusing on retention of our legal talent, conducting regular check-ins with lawyers and legal professionals to gauge engagement levels, including those who are not currently on client engagements.
- Providing a single point of contact for our legal talent and working with them to solve issues as they arise.
- Ensuring our legal talent is fully utilized by working with the talent directly and understanding their drivers and definition of a successful Axiom career.
- Keeping current and proactively using information in Axiom systems at all stages of the process, including managing situations when our talent is finishing a client engagement, enabling them to have new opportunities presented to them in advance.
- Meeting key Talent Success metrics, including retention, utilization, win rates, and conversion rate targets.
About You:
We are looking for a candidate with:
- 2+ years of experience ideally within a legal services provider, professional services firm, law firm, recruitment agency, or corporate in-house environment.
- An interest in the legal industry and the business of law.
- Strong team player and experience collaborating with other business teams and functions.
- Highly persuasive verbal communication skills and strong written communication skills.
- The ability to provide a high-quality experience for our talent, working with them to understand their preferences, and find opportunities that are a strong experience fit.
- A deep sense of urgency, pace, and drive to ensure matching of our legal talent with the right client opportunities.
- The ability to effectively assess candidate skills, ability, and interests at interview against the Axiom model and to meet client requirements.
