Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as an Associate Director of Business Development. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and expanding our Asia Pacific book of business, with a primary focus on Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.


The ideal candidate will have solid experience in sales and relationship management within the financial technology sector, particularly across Greater China/APAC. A strong understanding of the financial markets industry, including experience selling to and supporting clients in this sector, is also essential.



Key Responsibilities:

  1. New & Existing Business Development:
  2. Collaborate with regional sales leadership to identify and execute new sales opportunities and upsell initiatives.
  3. Conduct regular account servicing activities with key performance indicators (KPIs) in place.
  4. Support regional leadership in developing strategic relationships with banks, Futures Commission Merchants (FCMs), corporations, and proprietary trading firms.
  5. Deliver engaging and effective platform presentations to potential clients (training provided).
  6. Convert customer referrals into sales opportunities.
  7. Maintain strong client relationships, proactively identifying opportunities to expand market presence.
  8. Work with regional sales leadership to develop and execute marketing initiatives that increase brand exposure in the derivatives market.


Account Management:

  1. Develop a deep understanding of clients' business structures and operational needs.
  2. Build strong relationships with decision-makers, operations teams, and key power users.
  3. Provide timely updates on product offerings and services to clients.
  4. Ensure a consistent on-site presence at key accounts.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account information.
  6. Align with customers on growth strategies, both financially and operationally.
  7. Provide software, market data, and order execution support as needed.
  8. Assist with billing inquiries and contract clarifications.
  9. Offer on-site support for key accounts when required.
  10. Upsell new functionalities and services on CQG platforms to drive user engagement.
  11. Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their business trends and market conditions that may impact their operations and CQG's services.
  12. Proactively address potential cancellations and take preventive measures to retain customers.


Key Processes Owned:

  1. Customer onboarding and account setup.
  2. Basic and advanced software tutorials.
  3. Customer issue/problem resolution.
  4. Account modifications and enablements.
  5. Client communications and relationship management.
  6. Management of customer moves and transitions.
  7. New and add-on systems sales.
  8. Value-added service sales.
  9. Handling service disconnects and upgrades.
  10. Providing billing and contract explanations.


Qualifications & Experience:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates should possess:



  • Proven experience in sales and relationship management within the financial technology sector, particularly across Greater China/APAC.
  • Solid knowledge in futures and commodities trading, with prior experience at FCMs, futures exchanges, trading software vendors, or futures/physical trading firms.
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese is essential, as the role involves collaboration with internal teams, international partners, and regional clients.
  • Strong understanding of the financial markets industry, including experience selling to and supporting clients in this sector.
  • Excellent customer service and client-facing skills with a proactive and team-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and adaptable to a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage a diverse range of customer profiles.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support business development and account management initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Established professional networks in the commodity and futures trading industry across APAC are a plus.
