Assistant Manager - Marketing & Sales Team

This is an exciting opportunity to join Orient Overseas Container Line Limited as a highly skilled Assistant Manager, responsible for leading the marketing and sales team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pricing Strategy:
    • Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimize revenue and market share.
    • Analyze market trends and competitor pricing to inform rate quotation decisions.
    • Collaborate with trade partners to discuss pricing strategies and negotiate mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Commercial Goals:
    • Contribute to achieving commercial goals by preparing customer advisories and coordinating announcements for surcharge adjustments or service changes.
    • Work closely with YSM and Sales Teams to monitor process and performance, including contribution reviews, vessel utilization, loading factors, booking acceptance, and cargo rollover tactics.
    • Carry out analysis on service utilization and space planning, including TCR prospect preparation, new service requirements, and customer performance reviews.
    • Assist in implementing projects, such as E-sales programs, and monitor their progress.
    • Support Commercial Head in preparing reports and presentations.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Act as a backup for team members during their absence, handling tasks like preparing website announcements and managing Agreement Builder (AB) and Rate Builder (RB) filing and updates.

Requirements:

  • University graduate in Business Administration or Shipping-related disciplines.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in Sales/Commercial fields, preferably in the shipping industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Proactive, diligent, and willing to work overtime if needed.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; Putonghua is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially advanced Excel skills.

Estimated Salary: HK$80,000 - HK$120,000 per annum, depending on experience. This estimate is based on the location (Hong Kong) and the level of responsibility associated with this role.
