Senior Claims Officer

Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the smooth daily operation of the claims section, ensuring timely and accurate claims processing, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage claims workflow, ensuring efficient and effective processing of claims
- Monitor claims turnaround time, hotline service, and quality of outgoing claims correspondence
- Conduct claims assessments in compliance with authority levels
- Support the claims function in prompt and accurate settlement of claims and negotiation with different parties
- Ensure claims procedures are in compliance with company rules and implement procedures to prevent claims abuse
Accountabilities
- Meet claim service standards and turnaround times
- Approve claims cases within own authority limits and make recommendations to senior for cases exceeding authority limits
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints, as well as internal staff and sales force
- Provide administrative support in claims area, including composing claims correspondence and setting up claims procedures
- Analyze and provide advice on complaint/appeal claim cases
- Assist in preparing management reports and statistical claims reports
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma holder or High School graduate with relevant claims work experience
- Professional qualification in Life Insurance (FLMI) is preferable
- Over 2 years experience in Medical Insurance claims handling
- Knowledge of Medical insurance products, claims procedure, and operations
- Experience in handling claims-related projects is highly preferred
