About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead our Institutional Operations team in Hong Kong. As a key member of our Institutional Divisions Service & Onboarding proposition, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality service and onboarding outcomes for our Institutional customers.

Your role will involve leading a team of Trade, Payments & Cash Management Client Service specialists, managing client-facing engagements, proactive service delivery, enquiry/case management, and regional escalation activities. You'll also work closely with Institutional customers to support the frontline relationship and product teams.

You'll play a critical role in developing and implementing operating solutions for complex client requirements, driving continuous improvement through automation and process streamlining, and overseeing customer efficiency initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Trade, Payments, and Cash service professionals in Hong Kong and Group Capability Centres (GCC) in Bangalore and Manila.
  • Oversight the Trade Operations and Client Services in GCC.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance the customer experience and reduce cycle times to transaction processing and onboarding.
Requirements
  • Solid client service knowledge of Trade, Payments, and Cash products, with internationally and locally relevant banking operations experience.
  • Extensive years working experience in institutional banking operations and managerial positions, leading local and centre of excellence type teams.
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries, building strong relationships with stakeholders and peers.
  • Ability to lead teams to manage execution of transactions/activities within committed turnarounds.
  • Manage teams to ensure no breach of internal policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop training frameworks to upskill teams, leading by example to maintain an ongoing improvement culture.
  • Proficiency in spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, with excellent written communication skills in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
  • Strong ability to deliver external communications, such as letters, emails, and notices to clients, in coordination with business, legal, and communication departments.

The estimated salary for this role is $AUD 120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
