Achieving this goal requires collaboration across various departments and functions. As a member of our Product Pricing Leadership Team, you'll work closely with the Head of Product Pricing to drive sustainable and profitable growth in one or multiple product lines.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership and responsibility for the sustainable, profitable growth of new business for one/multiple product line(s).
  • Lead research and development efforts, collaborating with technical teams to enhance product competitiveness and financial outcomes through:
  • Exploring levers and tools to improve profit emergence in EV/IFRS 17/HKRBC, ALM, investment strategy, and risk management approach.
  • Keeping abreast of claim, policyholder behavior, and expense experience dynamics to identify opportunities and risks, proposing assumptions and modelling approaches.
  • Preparing for regulatory framework changes and leading/participating in projects that shape favorable outcomes for the company.
  • Updating Pricing R&D documents for discussion/endorsement/approval of assumptions, measurement, and management approaches to enhance product pricing outcomes.
  • Developing, monitoring, and evolving product pricing strategies in partnership with the Head of Product Pricing.
  • Formulating product pricing strategies, identifying R&D enablers, suitable new products, and management actions to compete for market opportunities.
  • Monitoring new business sales and financial performance, as well as the market landscape, to identify weaknesses and opportunities to evolve the product pricing strategy.
  • Collaborating with Proposition communities and other functions to develop processes and systems required to support the product pricing strategy, particularly speed to market and agility in responding to changing conditions.
  • Influencing product development discussions, leveraging product pricing strategies to support effective product development.
  • Supporting the Head of Product Pricing and wider Proposition communities to work collaboratively with channels to develop products, new business campaigns, and product propositions.
  • Providing technical, project, and stakeholder management guidance and support to pricing team heads in their delivery of pricing projects for your product line.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Qualified Actuary with at least 10 years of progressive experience in direct life insurance, reinsurance, and/or consultancy.
  • Clear understanding of full-range product lines: Par saving, critical illness, medical, universal life, corporate solutions, unit links, pensions, retirement products, and protection products, with expertise in some of them.
  • Deep expertise in assumption setting, asset/liability cash flow modelling, ALM, investment, capital management, medical business, and valuation principles and practices.
  • Good understanding of stakeholders' interests, perspectives, and needs, and ability to develop effective professional relationships across the organization.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Awareness of external factors like general economy, investment conditions, commercial environment, regulatory development, and public opinion.
  • Proficient command of spoken and written English; Cantonese/Mandarin a plus.
