We are seeking an Associate Business Development Manager to support the business development needs of our Client Group team in Asia ex-Japan, with a focus on institutional clients in China. This individual will work closely with the APAC Client Group team to build relationships with clients and deliver exceptional service.
The Associate Business Development Manager is a hybrid role that involves retaining, servicing, and expanding existing client relationships, as well as supporting the growth of our footprint by targeting new segments and acquiring new clients. The role requires close collaboration with various teams across the organization, including investment, product management, marketing, legal, operations, and other professionals.
Responsibilities
This Associate Business Development Manager position will be based in Hong Kong and have responsibility for our institutional clients in China. Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the Business Development manager to identify opportunities for expanding client relationships in new mandate discussions
- Building and maintaining relationships with prospective and existing clients
- Successfully balancing client needs with the capabilities and resources of our organization
- Focusing firm resources on client retention and expansion
- Coordinating client communications to minimize business risk
- Collaborating with other functional areas to resolve client issues and concerns
- Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of client investment objectives and market trends
- Working closely with service teams to provide direction and support
- Contribution to the management of the business through participation in projects, committees, and informal groups
We are looking for candidates with experience in the investment industry, a solid understanding of institutional investors' needs in China, and broad investment knowledge of the capital markets. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of the Chinese clients and their respective local market needs is essential for this role. Proactivity, willingness to learn and grow, initiative, creativity, persistence, attention to detail, and consultative selling skills are particularly important in this role.
