Job Summary

The Assistant Institutional Research Manager plays a pivotal role in collecting, managing, and analyzing institutional data to provide valuable insights for policy formation, strategic planning, research initiatives, budgeting, student enrollment management, and improving ranking performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the collection of key performance indicators specific to the local higher education sector, including the University Accountability Agreement (UAA), Common Data Collection Format (CDCF), etc.
  • Collect and analyze rankings data for key international university rankings, such as QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings, Times Higher Education World University Rankings
  • Prepare reports based on the analysis of institutional, research, and rankings data for various parties and purposes
  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to committees and working groups
  • Assist in ad hoc requests and projects
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Social Sciences, or related disciplines
  • At least 5 years' post-qualification experience, preferably with tertiary education institutions and at supervisory or management level
  • Strong analytical and computer skills with extensive experience in using relevant statistical packages and Business Intelligent tools
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • An excellent command of written and verbal English and Chinese (including Putonghua), especially with a high level of English proficiency in writing reports, proposals, and minutes
