About the Role

The Account Strategist has a key role in maintaining the client's stability and influences their potential growth.

They are responsible for maintaining strong client relationships and for the output of excellent marketing/advertising/PR (online and offline) activities and creative strategies.

The Account Strategist must use their experience and discipline to drive constant improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining client satisfaction and handling strategic issues or problem resolution of one-to-one marketing issues.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the marketplace and our client's business including various media and distribution channels.
  • Proactive engagement with the client to improve existing services, in order to drive profitable client relationships.
  • Being accountable for the security of our client's business.
  • Managing and ensuring quality of our services to clients.
  • Typical day-to-day management of clients and their requests including presentations, documentation, client activity administration, etc.
  • Key person supervising the excellence of projects; effectively managing and interpreting client feedback; guiding/leading account managers and account executives to implement projects smoothly and effectively.
  • Supporting the line manager in developing initiatives for new business or extending existing business.
  • Financial control of billings and 3rd party costs.
  • Writing/proofreading major communications materials including executive internal memos, executive speeches, Q&A, sensitive topic statements, pitch docs or press releases.
  • Cultivating high-level contacts within business and industry relations.
  • Leading major offline activities/events and overall quality control.
  • Providing account planning and strategic support to key clients.
  • Providing clients counsel in the development of successful customer management strategies.
  • Leading the team to write integrated communication plans.
  • Understanding industry/market trends and the success factors critical to the organization's long-term sustainability and competitiveness.
  • Understanding the offering of the 6 Capabilities.
  • Modifying proposals based on changing business conditions.
  • Driving the right client briefs for internal stakeholders, mainly strategy, creative and delivery teams.
  • Taking ownership of the quality of creative responses in conjunction with Creative Director.
  • Ensuring creative team motivation and working processes.
  • Overseeing project briefings (both written & actual briefing) & client approval.
  • Providing creative judgement.
Leadership & People Management
  • Developing working relationships with account managers and executives to ensure that once briefed the campaign/project moves forward smoothly.
  • Being the first stop in resolving problems raised by account managers and executives.
  • Working with BD/GAD to project future account team personnel requirements and overcoming any existing issues.
  • Assuming responsibility. Proactive and energetic working attitude, and always being positive.
  • Taking responsibility for management and motivation of account team members to allow them to achieve maximum potential.
  • Abiding by the WPP code of business conduct.
