Job Title: Development Officer

Job Summary:

The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceiving, managing, and executing local and international cultural programs of diverse natures and scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceive and manage cultural programs, including local and international initiatives
  • Coordinate and manage the team on various administrative tasks
  • Propose and report to sponsors and partners
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with schools, artists, and various stakeholders
  • Develop marketing strategies and execution plans for designated target groups and the public
  • Seize opportunities to expand the unit's resources network
  • Develop effective systems and procedures to monitor and record program data
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices
  • Stay updated on current trends and developments in the cultural and arts sector, both locally and globally

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree holder, preferably in Arts, Event/Cultural Management, or a related field

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the cultural or arts sector, with at least 1 year as a team leader

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent command of English, Putonghua, and Cantonese, written and verbally
  • Strong proposal writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and secure funding for cultural initiatives
  • Extensive network and connections within the local art scene, production companies, government agencies, and sponsors
  • In-depth knowledge of the Hong Kong cultural landscape, including familiarity with local arts organizations, venues, and funding opportunities

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans for cultural development
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Passion for the arts and a strong commitment to youth development and community engagement

Additional Requirements:

Interested candidates are advised to submit a portfolio of past projects in which they had a significant leading role. The portfolio should include information about the scale, content, budget, and other relevant attributes of each project.
