Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Operations Director to join our team and lead the operational functions of our hedge fund. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, financial services, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade Execution and Settlement: Oversee the execution and settlement of trades, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Daily Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of cash, trades, and positions with prime brokers, custodians, and counterparties, ensuring prompt investigation and resolution of trade discrepancies and settlement issues.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Risk Management: Implement and monitor risk management processes to mitigate operational risks.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports for management review.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline operations and implement best practices for efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective services.
  • Technology Integration: Work closely with the IT department to integrate and optimize technology solutions that support operational functions.
  • Clients and Investors: Liaise with clients and investors to address inquiries and provide updates on fund operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in operations management within the financial services industry, preferably in a hedge fund, asset management firm, or investment bank.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
