Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pastry Sous Chef on behalf of our client, a reputable establishment renowned for its high standards and commitment to culinary excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Chef, helping to maintain exceptional standards in pastry production and contributing to the overall success of the kitchen. Ideal candidates will have experience in respected restaurants and bring expertise in Afternoon Tea and Western cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in overseeing all pastry operations, including planning, preparation, and presentation of dishes.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene in line with the restaurants policies.
- Supervise and train junior staff, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to kitchen protocols.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to innovate and enhance menu offerings, focusing on creativity and quality.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Professional qualifications in pastry from a recognised institution.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role as a Pastry Sous Chef in reputable restaurants.
- Expertise in Afternoon Tea and Western cuisine.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT skills for administrative tasks.
- Possession of a Supervisor Food Safety certificate.
Desirable Skills (Non-Essential):
- International experience in high-end or Michelin-starred establishments.
- Manager Hygiene certificate.
- First Aid qualification.
