Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate performance metrics and strategic initiatives of the FWD group-wide distribution strategy and provide forward-looking insights to senior management.
  • Analyze the distribution financial and strategic objectives for all countries and assess the local business performance, risk, and competitive environment.

Purpose and Objectives

  • Drive the overall strategic initiatives of Distribution across all business units to ensure current and long-term profitability and growth.
  • Collaborate across FWD businesses to ensure alignment with the Company's overarching Vision and multi-channel strategy (HYBRID) and support distribution channel heads and marketing teams to set and achieve their respective KPIs.
  • Business unit performance analysis, historical trends, forecasting, and inputs to strategic planning. Facilitating informed decision-making.

Key Accountabilities

  • A. Supporting Group Distribution and Proposition
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of performance drivers within business units.
    • Act as a thought leader to promote best practices and implement Group initiatives.
    • Perform relevant analysis to support decision-making and challenge local C-level teams.
    • Manage parallel review and assessment of relevant deliverables while working collaboratively with Group and local stakeholders.
    • Engage business units to ensure that appropriate controls are in place, including strong focus on financial controls and channel mix management.
    • Lead discussions around monthly sales reporting, planning, and review processes, ensuring quality and accuracy with detailed analytical views on business performance.
    • Support senior management in providing regular updates to the executive team and board, commentary, analyses, and/or data visualizations that address designated markets. Measure progress of results to achieve projected forecasts and growth.
    • Act as a contact point and responsible person to set up regular monthly sales and proposition dialogues with markets and provide guidance and advice for any distribution-related reporting to business units.
    • Provide necessary support on discussions around annual planning exercises, periodic forecasts, and quarterly updates.
  • B. Distribution Performance Management across FWD Markets (Banca, Partnership, and Agency)
    • Coordinate and prepare monthly sales and proposition dialogues with local senior management teams on a monthly basis.
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of distribution performance across various channels and provide insights into forecasts and forward-looking activities and initiatives of markets.
    • Challenge business unit management on the effectiveness of business initiatives and their ability to deliver forecasts and plans.
    • Support senior management as needed to follow up on critical distribution initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree holder with professional financial qualifications such as ASA, FSA, FIA, CPA, ACMA, FCMA, FCCA, CA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 to 8 years of relevant working experience in the insurance industry, specifically exposure to working with distribution functions in reputable insurers is important.

Knowledge and Technical Skills

  • Solid financial management background, especially in the area of financial reporting, performance management, and management accounting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work with complex financial issues and concepts in a matrix organization structure across different geographies.
  • Attention to detail and strong business partnering, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrable experience of negotiating and influencing across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas, concepts, and results to both technical and non-technical audiences, whether written or oral.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and commitment, work independently, and meet tight timelines.
  • Able to manage multiple and conflicting requests from various parties.
  • Effective command of English, and preferably other languages relevant to markets FWD operates in.
  • Able to work in an evolving and dynamic environment and resilient to pressure;
