About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Director to join our team at Manulife (International) Limited in Hong Kong. As a key member of our Strategy Office, you will play a critical role in driving the development and execution of our company's long-term strategy and key strategic initiatives for Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and analyze strategic issues and opportunities that could impact business growth and profitability.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives through the development of work plans, gathering and generating relevant data, driving analyses, and developing actionable recommendations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to review feasibility of new propositions and potential growth opportunities, with a focus on value generation.
  • Establish performance measures and KPIs to ensure delivery and effectiveness of implemented strategies, track progress against ambitions, and identify areas for strategic improvement.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to ensure a free flow of ideas and information across the business, leading to suitable strategy formulation and overall business performance enhancement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics or Actuarial Science, with at least 8 years of work experience in the insurance industry.
  • Strong strategic skills, including experience in formulating strategy and familiarization with key principles of strategy development.
  • Excellent financial and data analysis skills, with the ability to triangulate financial data and generate key insights.
  • Strong execution-focused skills, with the ability to drive projects through providing appropriate project frameworks and engaging stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and manage stakeholders.
  • Tenacity and work ethic, with a strong sense of ownership and a willingness to see projects through to completion.
