Facilities Manager for World-Class Museum Operations

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to join our team at the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. This is a unique opportunity to work in a world-class museum environment and be responsible for managing various aspects of venue operations.

About the Role

As a Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of M+ building services, including mechanical, electrical, and other associated systems. This includes ensuring strong planned and preventative maintenance programmes, as well as soft services such as cleaning, landscaping, and waste management are in place.

You will also be working closely with the Projects, District Facilities Services (DFS) and IT Department to ensure seamless coordination between user groups and departments.

This role requires a high degree of flexibility, adaptability, and creativity, with a strong ability to problem-solve, communicate effectively, and lead cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver building management services, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
  • Coordinating between user groups, DFS, IT Department, and other relevant departments
  • Oversee the timely application and renewal of licenses and permits related to building/facility/equipment/system
  • Work with procurement team to issue tenders in accordance with procurement policy
  • Act as manager-in-charge to support event operations and resolve emergency incidents or situations
Requirements
  • Recognised university degree in business management, facilities management, hospitality management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in hospitality sector, facilities management, or other relevant industry
  • Experience in managing sizable venues with responsibilities in building management and/or venue operations
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Fluent English and Chinese language skills, with knowledge of Putonghua an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities management, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The estimated salary for this role is HK$80,000 - HK$120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
