About the Role

At West Kowloon, we are seeking a talented Museum Visual Culture Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of world-class exhibitions and programs that showcase the richness and diversity of modern and contemporary visual culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with curators to define key messages and visitor outcomes for exhibitions, ensuring a strong connection with target audiences.
  • Develop compelling stories about objects, artworks, and ideas through various means, including text, interactives, and audio guides.
  • Develop interpretive plans that guide teams responsible for producing and installing exhibits, ensuring a cohesive vision is realized.
  • Develop text strategies in English and Chinese, prioritizing readability and accessibility, to ensure exhibitions resonate with a broad spectrum of visitors.

Requirements

  • Possess a recognized university degree in a relevant field, such as museum education, journalism, communications, or creative media.
  • Have at least 4-5 years of professional experience in program planning and development, project management of art and cultural events, or festivals.
  • Proven experience in telling compelling stories for different learning outlets and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of learning and interpretation issues in contemporary museums.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
