Role Overview:

The Business Planning Assistant Manager is primarily tasked with reviewing and analyzing financial reports and compliance obligations for Aesop HKMO's operations, supporting informed business decision-making. This position reports directly to the Commercial Director for Hong Kong & Macau and will assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, along with various business, strategic, and financial activities. Close collaboration with regional finance teams is essential.

Main Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis / Business Collaboration

- Lead and oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with relevant stakeholders, providing clear analysis while identifying potential risks and opportunities.

- Prepare Monthly Business Reviews, promptly highlighting risks and opportunities for the markets.

- Assist the Commercial Director in developing business review presentations for Regional teams.

- Provide commentary and explanations regarding actual versus budget/latest forecast performance to Regional Finance.

- Collaborate with the Commercial Director to drive precise and insightful sales performance analysis across various channels.

- Conduct strategic analysis and financial assessments when evaluating CAPEX investments for the Commercial Director and Property team.

- Work with the Human Resources team to ensure retail headcount planning aligns with business needs while optimizing resource use.

- Coordinate with Demand Planning to validate financial forecasts and demand plans within the S&OP process.

- Partner with Marketing and Retail Capability teams to assess the efficient and effective use of investments aligned with business objectives.

- Review contracts and leases, providing financial evaluations to ensure terms are favorable to the company.

- Undertake other ad-hoc tasks that contribute to influencing the commercial decision-making process.

Reporting and Month-End Close

- Review and analyze monthly management reports for the Regional Finance Manager, ensuring proactive scrutiny of financial results, accuracy, and variances to budget.

- Evaluate and monitor costs, making recommendations for efficiency improvements (new processes, suppliers, control tools, etc.).

- Ensure accurate capture of all monthly expenses and year-end accruals.

- Review all leases from a financial perspective to ensure proper management.

- Ensure regular management of Accounts Receivable.

Technical and Certification Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

- Professional qualifications: Globally recognized accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, etc.

Key Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

- Substantial experience in financial/business planning and analysis.

- Demonstrated business acumen.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills (English).

- Ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

- Self-motivated, committed to excellence, with strong learning agility and results orientation.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, etc.), with experience in NetSuite ERP being advantageous.
