About the Role

Aesop is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Planning Manager to join our team in Hong Kong and Macau. As a key member of our commercial operations team, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial reports and compliance requirements to support business decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis / Business Partnering
    • Lead and monitor the budgeting and forecasting process with relevant stakeholders, providing clear analysis and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
    • Prepare monthly business reviews, highlighting risks and opportunities for the markets in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Assist the Commercial Director in preparing business review decks for presentation to regional teams.
    • Provide commentaries and explanations on actual versus budget/latest forecast performance to regional finance teams.
    • Partner with the Commercial Director to drive accurate and insightful sales performance analysis in various channels and doors.
    • Provide strategic analysis and financial appraisal when evaluating capital expenditure investments for the Commercial Director and Property team.
    • Collaborate with the Human Resources team to ensure retail headcount planning aligns with business needs while balancing resource efficiency.
    • Liaise with Demand Planning to ensure Sales and Operations Planning processes are in place, validating financial forecasts and demand plans.
    • Partner with the Marketing and Retail Capability teams to evaluate efficient and effective use of investments to align with business goals and strategies.
    • Review contracts and leases, providing financial evaluations to ensure clauses are not detrimental to the company.
  • Reporting and Month-End Close
    • Review and analyze monthly management reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, with proactive scrutiny of financial results, accuracy, and variance to budget.
    • Evaluate and monitor costs, making recommendations on how to improve efficiency through new processes, suppliers, or control tools.
    • Ensure all monthly expenses and year-end accruals are captured accurately and accordingly.
    • Review all leases from a financial standpoint, ensuring proper management.
    • Ensure Accounts Receivable management is done on a regular basis.
Requirements
  • Technical Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a similar field.
    • Professional qualifications: Globally recognized professional accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA.
  • Key Experience, Knowledge & Skills
    • Solid experience in financial/business planning and analysis.
    • Able to demonstrate and possess good business acumen.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with different stakeholders.
    • Self-motivated, commitment to excellence, strong learning agility, and results-oriented.
    • Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, etc.), experience with NetSuite ERP system an advantage.
