Role Overview:

The Business Planning Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in reviewing and analyzing financial reports and compliance requirements for Aesop's operations, thereby supporting informed business decision-making. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director for the region, this position will assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as engage in various strategic and financial activities. Collaboration with regional finance teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis / Business Collaboration

  • Lead and oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with relevant stakeholders, providing clear analysis while identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare Monthly Business Reviews, highlighting risks and opportunities for the markets in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist the Commercial Director in developing business review presentations for regional teams.
  • Provide insights and explanations regarding actual performance versus budget/latest forecasts to the Regional Finance team.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Director to drive insightful sales performance analysis across various channels.
  • Conduct strategic analysis and financial evaluations for CAPEX investments, providing insights to the Commercial Director and Property team.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources team to ensure retail headcount planning aligns with business needs while optimizing resource use.
  • Coordinate with Demand Planning to validate financial forecasts and demand plans within the S&OP process.
  • Partner with Marketing and Retail Capability teams to assess the effective use of investments in alignment with business objectives.
  • Review contracts and leases, providing financial evaluations to ensure terms are favorable to the company.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks that contribute to the commercial decision-making process.

Reporting and Month-End Close

  • Review and analyze monthly management reports for the Regional Finance Manager, ensuring accuracy and variance analysis against the budget.
  • Evaluate and monitor costs, recommending improvements for efficiency through new processes, suppliers, or control tools.
  • Ensure accurate capture of all monthly expenses and year-end accruals.
  • Review all leases from a financial perspective to ensure proper management.
  • Regularly manage Accounts Receivable.

Technical and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications: Globally recognized accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, etc.

Essential Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven experience in financial/business planning and analysis.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to excellence, strong learning agility, and results-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, etc.), with experience in NetSuite ERP being advantageous.
