About the School of Hotel and Tourism Management

The School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) is a vital component of the university's business faculty, established to address the increasing importance of the hospitality sector. The SHTM aims to cultivate future leaders in hospitality and real estate through a comprehensive educational approach, supported by a diverse team of academic and professional staff.

The SHTM offers a variety of programs designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the hospitality and real estate industries, including:

  • BBA in Hospitality and Real Estate
  • MSc in Real Estate
  • MPhil-PhD in Business Administration

Role Summary

The university is seeking a Director for the School of Hotel and Tourism Management. This role is crucial within the leadership team of the business faculty, with overall accountability for academic governance and administrative functions within the SHTM. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a collaborative spirit, dedicated to enhancing the academic standards and reputation of the SHTM's programs and research initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A distinguished record of scholarly achievement in hospitality and/or real estate, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in research and education.
  • A doctoral degree in hospitality, real estate, or a related business discipline.
  • Significant teaching and research experience in a research-focused university or similar educational institution.
  • Proven administrative experience in higher education or relevant industries, complemented by strong communication and networking abilities.
  • A global perspective combined with regional insights.
  • Established connections within the hospitality and real estate sectors.

International experience is highly regarded.

Appointment Details

The appointment will be on a fixed-term basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal. An academic appointment will also be made at a substantive rank or on a fixed-term basis.
