Shenendehowa Central School District Seeks Seasoned Purchasing Expert

About the Role

  • This individual will be responsible for maintaining purchasing records, including inventory systems, fixed assets, vendor contracts, and bid lists.
  • Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders to identify procurement needs and conduct bid processes.
  • Preparing work orders for completed bids for staff, unboxing, verifying receipt of items, processing documentation for payment, and resolving item discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Supervising warehouse staff and reviewing, prioritizing, and assigning duties on a daily basis.
  • Responding to purchasing requests, reviewing purchase requisitions for pricing and contract information to ensure adherence to purchasing guidelines and procedures.
  • Utilizing various tools and resources to assist with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, pricing, and inventory maintenance and reporting.
  • Operating lift equipment and hand jacks to move warehouse inventory and possessing the ability to physically lift and move heavy loads (50+lbs) frequently.
  • Maintaining positive communications with various stakeholder groups, including vendors, staff, and administration, and performing additional responsibilities as required.

  • A competitive salary range of Step 1 ($58,021/yr) - Step 7 ($66,500/yr)
  • SUSA Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Required qualifications include an Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Business Administration, Accounting, Purchasing & Materials Management, or a closely related field, along with seven years of large-scale purchasing/inventory experience.
  • Candidates should possess comprehensive knowledge of market and trade conditions, current business methods, and an aptitude for learning modern technologies and applying best practices for purchasing and inventory.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to plan and supervise the work of others, establish and maintain good working relationships, and exhibit good judgment, mental alertness, dependability, tact, and courtesy.
