About the Role

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a welcoming library environment, supporting students and teachers with resource access, and contributing to the organization and maintenance of library materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Student Learning: Assist students in navigating library resources, including checking out materials and providing guidance on research and study skills.
  • Maintain Library Environment: Ensure the library space remains organized, tidy, and conducive to learning, while promoting a quiet and respectful atmosphere.
  • Cataloging and Procurement: Handle the cataloging and processing of new books and magazines, as well as aid in selecting and ordering new library materials that align with the curriculum.
  • Event Planning: Contribute to coordinating and managing library events and activities that foster a love for reading and learning among students.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of resources, perform simple repairs on damaged materials, and report monthly borrowing statistics.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree holder with a recognized Diploma in Library and Information Management or a related discipline.
  • Languages: Excellent command of oral and written English and Chinese, including Mandarin.
  • Personality and Skills: Enjoy interacting with children, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrate strong organizational and time-management abilities, and exhibit initiative and independence.
  • Technical Skills: Strong IT and AI literacy, particularly in using Google Docs and Google Sheets for data management and documentation, with experience in Follett Destiny library management software and proficiency in cataloging materials in both English and Chinese.
  • Professional Development: Eager to pursue opportunities for personal and professional growth, with a keen interest in continuous development in library services and children's and young adult literature.
