The Hong Kong Palace Museum is a cutting-edge institution dedicated to showcasing the finest artefacts from the Palace Museum's collections. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the planning and implementation of our Chinese object study training programme.
This exciting project involves conducting day-to-day administrative tasks, including preparing legal agreements, project memos, and plans, emails, and letters; interim reports and regular reports; organising local and international travels, applying for visas, and arranging meetings. You will be responsible for monitoring budgets and tracking project financials, providing analysis and reports, and processing reimbursement claims.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will manage project calendars and keep track of progress, coordinate with various teams within the Museum, and collaborate with the Learning and Engagement team to plan public-facing projects related to the Chinese object study training programme.
You will serve as a liaison between the Museum and external stakeholders, helping to build strong relationships and networks of scholars, professors, university graduate students, sponsors, and other relevant parties. Your duties may also include preparing presentations, supporting curatorial research, data input, exhibition planning, and other tasks assigned by your supervisor when necessary.
To succeed in this role, you will possess a recognised university degree in a field such as Chinese art history and archaeology, heritage/collection management, conservation/conservation science, material culture, Chinese history, culture studies, museum studies, education, or arts administration. You will have a strong interest in Chinese art and culture, preferably with some knowledge of working directly with art objects in museums, universities, or other cultural institutions.
Prior experience in research or teaching, project/event management, or coordination, preferably in activities like teaching/curriculum design, conferences, lectures, study trips in museums, galleries, universities, or other cultural or educational institutions, is highly desirable. Proficiency in office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat is essential, along with good problem-solving skills, communication skills, and proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
As a self-motivated and organised individual, you will be able to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays, for events if necessary. If you are passionate about cultural heritage and museum practices, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
Please submit your application with a detailed CV. We appreciate your interest in joining our team and look forward to reviewing your application.
