Role Overview


As a System Support Specialist at PCCW, you will be responsible for providing Tier 1 support to our mission-critical private cloud platform, consisting of over 1000 servers.


Key Responsibilities



  • Execute server support operation services based on defined operation manuals and instructions provided by the Tier 2 server team.
  • Follow defined documentation for incident and change management.
  • Work in a shift-based role, primarily in an office environment, with occasional visits to the data center as required.

Requirements


To succeed in this role, you must have:


Mandatory Criteria



  • A minimum of 3 years of IT-related work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing Tier 1 operation support to server components, including Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware vSphere, and server storage such as HDS VSP series SAN storage.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a team member in a Tier 1 operation support team delivering IT Operation services to a project with at least 100 servers.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Desirable Criteria


The ideal candidate should have:



  • Experience working in an IT System Integration company background.
  • Experience working as an IT Operation team member in a HKSAR Government IT Maintenance project (not in a supervisory role).
  • Familiarity with ITIL Processes, such as Incident Management and Change Management.
  • Familiarity with using ticketing systems, such as BMC Remedy, OpenText SMAX, to facilitate ITIL Processes.
