Building Services Technical Specialist

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be stationed at the Control Centre and will play a crucial role in coordinating necessary repair units to address all urgent faults. Additionally, the appointee will oversee daily work orders for all Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) systems across the campus, including staff accommodations, student residences, and external facilities. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring the functionality of the Building Management System (BMS), chiller systems, fire safety equipment, elevators, and escalators from the Control Centre;
  • Supervising both in-house personnel and contractors during emergency maintenance, repairs, and inspections;
  • Conducting investigations into failures, performing ad-hoc malfunction analyses, and proposing enhancements for service delivery;
  • Recommending and executing initiatives aimed at energy conservation;
  • Assisting with safety and technical training sessions;
  • Responding to emergency calls promptly;
  • Undertaking any additional responsibilities as assigned.

The appointee will be required to work in shifts and be available for on-call duties.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree, Higher Diploma, or Higher Certificate in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields, along with a valid safety training course certificate;
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in the operation, maintenance, or project management related to building services;
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, as well as familiarity with MS Office applications (including Word and Excel);
  • A strong sense of risk management and accountability, commitment to teamwork, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage both in-house and outsourced tasks independently under pressure;
  • Preference will be given to candidates with significant experience in a Control Centre within educational institutions.
