Job Summary

The City University of Hong Kong is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Officer to join its facilities management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the university's building management system, chiller plants, fire services system, and other critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the Building Management System (BMS) and other critical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of in-house staff and contractors to resolve emergency faults and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into system failures and malfunctions, and implement recommendations for service enhancement.
  • Develop and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce the university's carbon footprint.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff members on safety and operational procedures.
  • Respond to emergency calls and perform on-call duties as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in building services operation and maintenance, with a valid safety training course certificate.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese language skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong risk awareness and responsibility, with a commitment to teamwork and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage in-house and outsourced works, with self-motivation and the ability to work independently under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Substantial work experience in a control center in a higher education institution.
