Commercial Banking - Corporate Banking
Hang Seng's Commercial Banking (CMB) business provides customized one-stop financial solutions to our corporate customers, from small and medium-sized businesses to large publicly listed companies and conglomerates, as well as institutional clients.
Corporate Banking is one of CMB's key customer segments, where we offer a comprehensive range of services including corporate lending, trade and receivables finance, structured lending, cash management, investment, treasury services, insurance and e-Banking services to corporate customers conducting business locally or around the world. As a reliable financial partner, we attend to the specific business needs of our customers and provide efficient tailor-made banking solutions through our relationship managers and dedicated specialists.
We are currently seeking a high calibre individual to join us as Managing Director, Head of Corporate Banking - Mainland Corporates.

Principal responsibilities

• Lead and drive the Hang Seng Corporate Banking with a view to driving exceptional client outcomes and market leadership by developing and implementing strategies that will lead to sustainable growth, profitability and enhanced competitive advantage, focusing on growth of the Mainland Corporate portfolio, especially on new to bank customers in that space.

• Manage multiple Relationship Manager (RM) teams to execute business objectives through appropriate relationship building, client planning and pipeline management for new and existing customers, and working closely with product partners to deploy full suite of Corporate propositions to drive performance competitively and as appropriate.

• Devise and execute initiatives to substantially increase cross boundary collaboration with Hang Seng Bank China (HACN) in Greater Bay Area and the rest of China.

• Deliver assigned targets across revenue, returns and costs, whilst maximising the contribution of Corporate Banking to Commercial Banking and Hang Seng.

• Understand economic trends and their impact on CMB and identify key levers to capitalise on opportunities or minimise downside exposure. Proactively implement risk mitigation measures to protect the Bank and its customers from all regulatory, compliance and service issues.

• Develop and maintain an environment of consistent performance measurement, training and development, career management and succession planning fostering a culture where exceptional talent is built and consistently thrives.

• Maintain and observe all Hang Seng control standards and implement the Risk and Compliance policies, including recommendations from internal/external auditors and regulator. Drive a high-performance culture while adhering to Hang Seng's values.

Requirements

• Postgraduate degree in business, finance and credit related disciplines and/or professional banking qualification.

• Minimum 20 years of working experience in Credit/Relationship management with at least 5 years in a senior management position, with exposure to trade finance, investment and treasury, insurance, cash management, commercial lending and electronic banking with working knowledge of product sales, product and process development or management.

• Experience in growing the business on and managing a portfolio with focus in mainland corporates in a major international or domestic bank is essential.

• Proven ability to lead change and strategic transformation. Strong growth mindset, committed, resilience and action-oriented personality with strong ownership to drive business performance and the success of strategy development and implementation.

• Fulfillment of the competency requirements set out in the "Guidelines on Competence" issued by the Securities and Futures Commission.

• Proficiency in both English and Chinese, fluency in Putonghua essential.
