This is a fixed-term contract position of 2 years with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Assisting Manager to lead the team to achieve M+ standard, KPIs and under compliance with institution safety guidelines.
  2. Overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintaining all venues and event flows for managing designated venue and also support the operations of Information Desk, cloak room, galleries, and lobby area, where required.
  3. Supervising Visitor Services staff in the designated venue including scheduling, performance management and training to ensure a consistent visitor experience and effectively handling visitor's complaints and issues with proper reporting procedure.
  4. Establishing and implementing standard operating procedures for the frontline operations of Visitor Services in designated venue including safety, cleanliness, screening, event support, general housekeeping, etc.
  5. Working with relevant parties in setting up ticketing systems and addressing any issues in relation to ticket sales.
  6. Managing the collaboration with potential hirers, clients, guests, institutional partners, outside vendors and internal parties on all regular and special programmes, events and performances; reviewing and executing venue hire requests.
  7. Working closely with other front-line teams such as security, facilities management team to provide a seamless visitor experience, resolving any emergency incidents or situations following a set of protocols.
  8. Supporting supervisor in collaborating with curatorial teams, and the Marketing, Digital and Customer Experience (MDCE) Department on the planning, implementation and execution of marketing plans to drive box office sales.
  9. Assisting in budget management and providing regular reports for management review.
  10. Performing any ad hoc duty as assigned.

You should:

  1. Hold a recognised university degree in business management, marketing, hospitality management, or related field.
  2. Have around 5 years of relevant work experience in the hospitality sector or other relevant industry; working experience in operating sizable cinema or theatre offering a wide range of cultural programmes or events is an advantage.
  3. Demonstrate proven front-of-house or customer-facing operations experience, preferably in sizable venues, cinema or theatre operations including venue management, event scheduling, staff training and scheduling, and venue safety and cleanliness.
  4. Exhibit strong organizational, team-building, time management and multi-tasking skills.
  5. Have a customer-centric mindset with good relationship management skills, able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of audiences and messages.
  6. Be a good team player, results-driven and adaptable to change.
  7. Possess a solid knowledge of audiovisual workflows, equipment, technology, systems and software related to screening, event, or venue management.
  8. Be available to work on evenings, weekends and public holidays, according to the assigned duty roster, as shift duty is required.
  9. Have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese; knowledge of Putonghua or another language is an advantage.
