M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Located in Hong Kong's WestK, we are one of the leading museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world. The museum reflects our unique time and place, building on Hong Kong's historic balance of the local and the international to define a distinctive and innovative voice for Asia's twenty-first century.

(This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.)

You will be responsible for:

  • assisting with general moving image programming and project coordination, across the M+ Facade, Mediatheque, Galleries, Grand Stair, and beyond.
  • supporting the scheduling, conversion, ingestion, installation, and testing of content for different moving image spaces.
  • supporting the production and editing of promotional videos for onsite screens and online social media.
  • assisting with photographic and video documentation of Mediatheque and Facade programmes, as well as ad-hoc Cinema and Grand Stair events.
  • helping to maintain and update data and image records of the M+ Collections and programmes, across exhibitions, film screenings, publications, and other displays.
  • liaising with artists, video editors, writers, production companies, AV technicians, and other vendors and stakeholders.
  • performing administrative tasks related to budgeting, procurements, project production, curatorial processes, and meetings.
  • assisting in routine testing, operations, and other special projects at M+.

You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree or equivalent in Multimedia Production, Film Studies, Creative Media Studies, Art History, Fine Arts, or other subjects related to moving image.
  • have 2 years of relevant work experience in an art or cultural organisation.
  • have a strong interest in moving-image art and culture.
  • be able to work independently and cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • have an enthusiasm for creative problem-solving, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • have demonstrable skills in managing evolving assignments and priorities.
  • be highly organised and detail oriented.
  • be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and media production software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or other related software.
  • have excellent written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English.
