Job Summary
As a Senior Vice President, you will lead Group Strategy in developing, incubating, and overseeing key strategic initiatives across the firm. You will work closely with internal and external partners on various projects, including product and business development, market-facing initiatives, collaborations with other exchanges, and expansion into new lines of business.

About the Role
The ideal candidate is a highly commercial and analytical individual with a desire to contribute to regional and global financial markets. They should have experience in exchanges, strategy, corporate finance, or business development, preferably with capital markets or market infrastructure knowledge.

Main Responsibilities
  • Partner with multiple HKEX divisions to assess, incubate, and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and drive strategic projects across different asset classes, covering trading and post-trade areas.
  • Seek and evaluate potential merger, acquisition, investment, and external partnership opportunities relevant to HKEX.
  • Participate in and support strategic idea generation for HKEX.
  • Prepare position papers and present recommendations to senior management.
  • Coordinate and deliver research and analysis on topical issues affecting HKEX's business.
  • Prepare for and attend meetings with business, government, or regulator counterparts.
  • Support the Head of Group Strategy in driving talent management and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements
  • A university degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Candidates with 15+ years of experience in exchange, strategy, corporate finance, or business development roles are strongly preferred.
  • An ambitious and motivated self-starter with excellent commercial awareness and financial literacy.
  • A high level of interest and relevant experience in the global capital markets.
  • Demonstrated track record in leading and driving large-scale, complex, and cross-divisional projects successfully.
  • Ability to collaborate, manage, and influence stakeholders across HKEX.
  • Serious calibre written and spoken presentation skills.
  • A good command of written and spoken English; Mandarin and Cantonese are a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
HKEX offers an attractive salary package, with an estimated annual compensation range of HKD 2.5 million - 4 million (approximately USD 320,000 - 510,000), depending on qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Location
The role is based at Exchange Square in Hong Kong SAR, working standard hours of 40 per week.
