Card Fraud Prevention Manager

About the Team
The Reap organization is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its Card Risk and Fraud team. As a critical member of the organization's leadership, you will work closely with the General Counsel and Head of Legal, Risk, and Compliance. This role offers flexibility, allowing you to work remotely from anywhere in APAC or choose a hybrid arrangement in Hong Kong or Singapore.
Main Duties:
- Risk Management: Oversee a team of risk analysts, guiding them to improve their skills and performance.
- Fraud Detection: Implement strategies to prevent credit card fraud, focusing on chargebacks and unauthorized transactions.
- Investigations: Lead investigations into suspected cases of fraud, collaborating with authorities and stakeholders to resolve these matters.
- Risk Reporting: Establish and maintain robust risk reporting mechanisms to keep senior leaders informed about potential risks and mitigation measures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and compliance teams to enhance fraud detection systems and processes specific to card payments.
Qualifications
To succeed in this challenging role, you should possess strong expertise in defending against card transaction fraud in a rapidly evolving fintech environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as finance, business, information technology, etc.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in risk management within the fintech or financial services sector, particularly with card issuers.
- Proven track record in leading risk professionals and delivering key risk metrics and reporting to senior management
- Thorough understanding of credit card networks, transaction processing, and the tactics used by fraudsters to exploit these systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, backed by hands-on experience in utilizing fraud detection software to monitor and analyze transaction data.
- Effective communication skills, enabling you to convey complex fraud patterns and risk mitigation strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to make well-informed decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
- Capability to work independently in a remote/hybrid setup.
