Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Asset Manager to join our team at the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing our growing digital asset and collaborating with our Collection Managers and Photographer to manage images in the database for our collection and loans, staff, events, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Procurement: Handle research, procurement, and rights clearances of images, including handling image requests to Palace Museum and other external parties for publication, exhibition, marketing, educational, and other projects.
  • Image Licensing: Handle image licensing requests from external parties related to the use of images related to the Museum.
  • Digital Asset Management: Manage the Museum's digital asset and collaborate with the Collection Managers and Photographer to manage images in the database.
  • Project Budgeting: Assist in building project budgets and monitor expenditures related to digital asset management.
  • Guidelines and Procedures: Develop guidelines, including those related to image management and rights clearance procedures, following Hong Kong Intellectual Property legislation and appropriate regulations.
  • Training and Support: Provide advice, training, and troubleshooting in a timely fashion for the teams.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Develop good collaborative relationships with teams within the Museum and counterparts at the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, including the Innovation Technology Department, Communications and Public Affairs, Marketing and Customer Experience Department, and external service providers and users.
Requirements
  • Education: Possess a recognized university degree or equivalent in design, visual art, art history, museum studies, visual communication, or related disciplines.
  • Experience: Have around 6 years of relevant experience in digital asset management, publishing, rights and reproduction, copyright, design, imaging, database, or web management, or other relevant areas. Work experience in or with museums or other art and cultural organizations is a plus.
  • Skills: Possess excellent digital imaging process skills and good knowledge about digital asset management and publishing flow for the scholarly audience and the general public, as well as meticulous attention to details and high accuracy.
  • Organizational Skills: Have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Software Proficiency: Possess proficiency in software, including Digital Asset Management (DAM) System, Collection Management System, The Museum System (TMS), Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
  • Language Skills: Possess good communication and presentation skills with proficiency in Cantonese and English. Knowledge of Putonghua is a plus.
