The Senior Retail Area Manager oversees the boutique teams within their designated area, driving the organization towards achieving and sustaining a premier position in the retail sector.

This role involves consistently motivating and enhancing the professionalism of Boutique Management to ensure they are recognized as industry leaders. The manager fosters a client-focused environment that emphasizes sales and service excellence by sharing best practices, maintaining open communication, and promoting effective collaboration.

Additionally, the manager is tasked with understanding and refining the unique profiles of each boutique in partnership with the Retail Director, ensuring that strategies align with the overall portfolio management approach within the organization.

A key aspect of this role is to champion experiential retail, positioning Cartier as a leading brand in the luxury retail landscape.

This position reports directly to the Retail Director, dedicating a significant portion of time to field operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership, Management, and Development of Staff

  • Cultivates a culture of excellence among frontline teams, ensuring engagement and motivation in alignment with the company's vision.
  • Invests considerable time in the development of personnel, particularly the Boutique Management team, to empower them as effective leaders and brand ambassadors through mentoring and coaching.
  • Advises on succession planning and development strategies for Boutique Managers, focusing on their strengths and areas for growth.
  • Identifies and implements strategies to inspire boutique management to exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborates with HR to address retail staffing needs and enhance talent retention.
  • Provides long-term recommendations for boutique structural evolution to meet business demands.

Building a Client-Centric Retail Team

  • Encourages Boutique Management to embrace Client Service Values.
  • Establishes high standards for client service, promoting personalized interactions.
  • Works with the Marketing Team to shape client strategies, leveraging insights into customer behaviors.

Translating Business Strategy to Boutiques

  • Offers strategic direction based on in-depth knowledge of market conditions.
  • Identifies business opportunities and market initiatives, staying attuned to the luxury retail environment.
  • Collaborates with the Retail Director to formulate strategic business plans, bridging retail with corporate functions.
  • Partners with Marketing to analyze customer insights and develop action plans.
  • Works closely with product teams to align offerings with boutique strategies.
  • Provides insights on incentive schemes to motivate staff and enhance market competitiveness.
  • Oversees boutique staff productivity and cost management.

Upholding Brand Image

  • Instills a culture of brand integrity through visual merchandising and staff presentation.
  • Communicates retail needs to ensure a balance between brand image and business objectives.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador, inspiring retail teams through exemplary behavior.
  • Maintains positive relationships with external stakeholders.

Enhancing Boutique Operations and Performance

  • Leverages support from various departments to streamline processes.
  • Collaborates across teams to achieve retail excellence.
  • Focuses on improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensures adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Partners with Finance to review internal controls and safeguard company assets.

Required Competencies

  • Education & Qualifications: Background in Watch and Jewelry/Fashion/Retail/Luxury is advantageous. Minimum of 10 years in retail management, with at least 2 years leading a team of 30 or more. A university degree is required.
