Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Assistant Library Officer - Learning Support to join our team. The successful candidate will provide administrative and technical support for the LU Barn maker space facilities and other areas of the Library to promote entrepreneurial activities of the University.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide administrative and technical support for the LU Barn maker space facilities and other areas of the Library to promote entrepreneurial activities of the University.
  • Provide clerical and logistical support to the smooth running of information literacy programs including orientations, workshops, and all other reference and instruction services in both online and in-person formats for students and faculty.
  • Assist in conducting library tours, handle enquires at the Services Counter and via other channels, and other public services.
  • Keep the content of the library website, social media and digital learning objects up-to-date.
  • Prepare promotional materials for workshops and events, and assist in all publicity activities.
  • Supervise part-time and student helpers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors and University Librarian.
  • Shift duties in the evenings and/or on the weekends and public holidays will be required.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree preferably in Creative Media, Educational Technology, Information Technology, Information Management or related disciplines.
  • 1-2 years of ICT working experience preferably in academic libraries/institutions/schools/educational agencies.
  • A good command of English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).
  • Ability to work in teams and independently with a positive customer service attitude.
  • Proficiency in PC skills, with graphic design software knowledge and website authoring experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of 3D modelling, 3D printing, 3D scanning, laser cutting, or laser engraving is preferred.
