Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resource Advisor to join our team at Star Anise Limited. As an HR Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our firm's HR functions, ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies, and fostering a positive work environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide expert HR advice and support to senior stakeholders and employees on HR-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, and compliance with employment laws.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures that align with our firm's strategic goals.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate and deliver training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Oversee employee benefits administration and ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
  • Conduct regular HR audits to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Handle employee grievances and disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve HR processes and enhance employee engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar HR role, preferably within an international law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • High levels of fluency in English, with Cantonese and Mandarin (written and spoken) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the Hong Kong labour laws.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Experience of liaising with the Hong Kong Law Society and applying for new/renewed practising certificates and handling CPD points, a distinct plus.
