Database Administrator Job Description:

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Classy Wheeler Limited. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for providing technical support for various databases, including Oracle, MSSQL, DB2, and MySQL.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, install, configure, and maintain databases
  2. Provide technical support for database design, installation, configuration, performance tuning, and ongoing maintenance
  3. Work on emergency calls and onsite support as required

Requirements:

  1. Degree in IT or Engineering with 2-4 years of relevant experience
  2. Minimum 2 years' experience in Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, or MySQL Database Administration
  3. Possession of OCA/OCP/IBM DB2 certification is preferred
  4. Hands-on experience in database installation, backup & recovery, performance monitoring & tuning
  5. Knowledge in database HA/DR solutions (RAC/Dataguard/HADR) is an advantage
  6. Knowledge in System Administration and Backup tools administration (IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, TSM, Symantec NetBackup, etc.) is an advantage
  7. A team player with analytical and problem-solving mind, self-motivation, good interpersonal skills
  8. Effective verbal and written communication in English and Chinese. Good communication skill in Putonghua is an advantage
  9. Candidate with more experience will be considered as Senior Database Administrator
  10. Shift roster. Individual will work in a Global team for shared, rotating schedules (day/evening/WE).
