About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our team at Swiss Re. As a trusted advisor, you will provide strategic legal guidance to our business units, ensuring that our operations are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely and high-quality legal advice to our business units, identifying and mitigating legal risks and opportunities.
- Draft and review legal documents related to business transactions and initiatives, ensuring compliance with Group guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments in Hong Kong and Taiwan, analyzing their impact on Swiss Re and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Assist with regulatory issues in Hong Kong, including regulatory inspections and onsite reviews, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Enhance corporate governance, particularly relating to operations in Hong Kong, ensuring that our business practices are sound and compliant.
- Manage legal advice related to general corporate matters, with a strong focus on corporate structure, regulatory, and licensing matters.
- Participate in Group and regional projects, providing legal expertise and support as needed.
About the Team
You will work with a multi-jurisdictional and diverse team of legal and compliance professionals, operating in a global organization and culturally diverse environment. Our team provides legal advice to support Swiss Re's businesses and operations, while safeguarding sound governance standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in law.
- At least 8 years of post-qualification experience in financial institutions or law firms.
- Good communication and cross-cultural skills, fluent in English.
- A solid understanding of Hong Kong and Taiwan laws and regulations relevant to Swiss Re.
- Familiarity with global/local financial industry's regulatory trends.
- Strong business acumen, adaptable to change, and agile.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
