Job Summary

Store Managers are accountable for every aspect of retail store operations, ensuring that all areas of the store are engaged, performing, and delivering a world-class guest experience. This role is responsible for talent acquisition strategy, ongoing people development, and growth within their community.

Core Responsibilities of the Job

Leadership and People Management
  • Create and foster a respectful and inclusive team environment.
  • Establish a vision for the store based on key metrics and initiatives.
  • Build a strong and diverse team to drive store operations.
  • Manage the store's hiring process with a focus on IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity, and action).
  • Support ongoing learning and development of all store team members.
  • Engage in and drive career discussions to support team growth.
  • Provide team member recognition and performance documentation.
  • Plan and prepare team member schedules according to labor requirements.
  • Address employee relations issues in partnership with the People and Culture (P&C) team.
Guest Experience and Community
  • Support team members to ensure a great guest experience.
  • Lead dynamically on the floor to assess business and guest needs.
  • Address emergent issues, including guest escalations.
  • Cultivate inclusive relationships with community partners.
  • Establish and maintain local relationships with ambassadors and community leaders.
Working with Others
  • Establish supportive relationships with all team members.
  • Collaborate with in-store team members for optimal guest experience.
  • Collaborate across stores or regions on product feedback and community engagement.
Operations
  • Manage whole store profit and loss (P&L) in accordance with goals.
  • Plan and execute quarterly and annual planning for the store.
  • Manage floor plan to drive efficiency of operations.
  • Understand and adhere to safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform work in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.

Budget Responsibility: Accountable for controllable budget; labor hours; annual sales plan target.

People Management: Leadership role directly responsible for all store employees.

Job Requirements

  • Legally eligible to work in the jurisdiction of the store.

Availability

  • Willing to work a flexible schedule.

Other Willingness Requirements

  • Willing to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Willing to move through a store for most of a shift.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of people management and development experience.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Accountable for managing P&L and developing your team.

Job Assets (i.e., nice to have; not required)

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 years retail or sales management experience.
