Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfills its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Business Development, Wholesale Business .

Principal Responsibilities

Build and strengthen HSBC Wholesale Business in both asset growth and reputation, positioning the firm as an industry leader in Asia Formulate high-level strategic plans in promoting AM traditional and alternative investment offerings via internal franchises (WPB, CMB, GPB and insurance) and external partners (family offices, EAMs, Corporates and private wealth management) Identify, develop and execute new and existing strategic business and product initiatives for AM for different locations and channels (both internal and external) Work with Wholesale Business lead and local sales teams to explore and develop business opportunities, showcase investment excellence to strategic clients across segregated mandates and fund sales. Responsible for bringing in net inflows and new partnership opportunities to Wholesale Business Asia Be proactive in engaging investment teams and other stakeholders in HSBC to deliver appropriate client solutions Coordinate, design and execute client programs and initiatives around knowledge sharing, training, and ad hoc engagements Establish strong relationships with key global stakeholders, and to understand and navigate the complexities of the organization, and collaborate with teams to bring optimal solutions for clients in Asia Build a comprehensive knowledge base around the core HSBC products and capabilities, along with the respective portfolio managers, analysts and specialists, and how to package the capabilities into client solutions Work with Global Stakeholders on various global initiative and projects while representing, maintaining, and supporting Asia interests Work with key investment personnel to partner with Asia Wholesale on roadshows and client meetings to promote strategies and capabilities and build franchise businesses Requirements Bachelor's degree preferably with a business focus with advanced finance degree or relevant qualification Proven achievement in client-facing/business development roles Strong technical expertise across market and investment knowledge Experience with asset management, alternative investment or private banking environment in client sales and engagement activities Able to speak and present through all asset classes including equities, fixed income, alternatives, and multi asset as well as solution-oriented sales approach Ability to develop a strategic dialogue with the client on a multi-dimensional basis Proven record of proactively developing and originating client solutions Proficiency in English and Chinese, both written and spoken Relevant SFC/HKMA license
