Job Description

Reporting to the Energy Business Line Director, the General Manager is responsible for managing the overall performance of the Company to include, revenue, profitability, performance, expenditures and staffing through delegation of tasks and duties. Lead, manage and oversee each department ensuring efficiency, financial stability and compliance with all customer protocol agreements. The General Manager remains in-tune with industry standards and will play a pivotal role in client relationship, and business growth.

● Responsible for the P&L, HR, H&S, Procurement and Compliance of the Company
● Full responsibility accountable to the financial performance of the HKDC business and
support the headquarter with budgetary and other related financial matters
● Prepare regular reports for upper management

Business Development Objectives:
● Renewal and/or extension of the ongoing DCS O&M contracts
● Develop and implement effective business development strategies to drive company growth including to win new public O&M DCS contracts and upcoming DBO projects
● Diversify the existing private portfolio with new O&M contracts on Private DCS or Seawater Chiller plant

Operational Objectives:
● Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with the governmental officials for the smooth and effective execution of the Kai Tak DCS contract
● Oversee all projects in collaboration with Projects Managers to ensure each performing in line with the overall objective of contracts
● Ensure thorough knowledge and understanding of the contract for all assigned projects
● Take ownership of projects and project issues
● Liaising closely with Senior Managers during the execution of the project
● Managing the project procurement within defined budgets and project completion programme
● Ensuring that all the necessary documentation (e.g. signed subcontracts, bonds etc) is in place for all major subcontractors/suppliers
● Thorough monitoring and control of the project and adherence to the project programme
● Ensure payment applications are submitted in accordance with the terms of the contract
● Manage the contract cash flow paying particular attention to the credit terms negotiated with major suppliers/subcontractors
● Prepare accurate and timely financial information, in particular monthly Contract Financial
Reports and budgets/forecasts
● Anticipate risks and manage opportunities
● Apply procedures in place related to contract execution
● Liaise with Site H&S Manager to ensure that all H&S requirements are satisfied


Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualification:
• Bachelor of Science or above degree on Engineering related discipline
• FHKIE and/or an appropriate engineering qualification or equivalent experience recognised by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers or reciprocal scheme


Experience/Knowledge:
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
• Proven track record of successfully leading and growing a business
• Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to think strategically and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics

Computer skills:
• Proficiency in Google and MS Office applications


Language:
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
