Vessel Operations Manager

Atlas Corp. is seeking a highly skilled Vessel Manager to join our team. As a Vessel Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and economical operation of assigned vessels.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure compliance with local and international rules and regulations, as well as Seaspan's Safety Management System (SMS).
- Monitor vessel performance and relay information to the onboard master and chief engineer.
- Prepare budgets for the yearly operation of assigned ships, scheduled dry dockings, surveys, repairs, and ad-hoc modifications and repairs.
- Monitor expenses of assigned vessels and submit monthly variance reporting.
- Communicate expectations to direct reports and manage performance.
- At least one year of experience as a technical superintendent in a company managing handy-max sized (or larger) vessels engaged in international trading.
- Class 1 marine engineer certificate.
- Strong technical knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience working with container ships.
- Education in mechanical engineering or naval architecture.
- Regular international travel is required and may be on short notice.
- Must have mobility to conduct vessel inspections.
