Marine Operations Manager

At Novo Recruitment Solutions Pte Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled Marine Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Marine Manager and ensuring the company's vessels operate in compliance with company standards and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Support to Marine Manager: Provide assistance to the Marine Manager as required, ensuring seamless operations and effective decision-making.
- Vessel Compliance: Offer necessary assistance to Masters and crews to ensure vessel operations comply with company standards and international regulations.
- Management System Implementation: Effectively implement the company's management system in daily operations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the system and its application.
- Procedure Development: Assist in developing new procedures or revising existing ones, promoting continuous improvement and best practices.
- Initiative Promotion: Promote and support initiatives focused on continuous improvement, energy efficiency, environmental awareness, and a strong health, safety, and security culture.
- Client Expectations: Ensure company vessels meet client expectations and are prepared for third-party inspections, maintaining high levels of safety, environmental protection, and energy efficiency.
- Inspection Support: Attend vessels during inspections and offer support when needed, ensuring prompt resolution of any issues raised.
- Marine Visits: Conduct regular marine visits, addressing any issues raised in collaboration with other departments and ensuring timely resolution.
- Audit Performance: Perform internal audits in line with relevant procedures, maintaining documentation and ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs during marine visits and provide training where possible, promoting the development of crew members.
- Charter Party Agreements: Stay informed about charter party agreements and ensure Masters are aware of key terms, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Nautical Publications: Ensure vessels are supplied with the necessary nautical publications and navigation charts, maintaining up-to-date information.
- Issue Tracking: Track and follow up on issues identified during third-party inspections, maintaining documentation in the CAPE database.
- Client Needs: Assist the Vetting Team Leader in addressing client needs as required, ensuring prompt resolution of any issues raised.
- Terminal Satisfaction Reports: Monitor Terminal Satisfaction Reports and Letters of Protest, ensuring timely investigations and implementation of corrective actions, with records kept in the CAPE database.
- Briefings and Interviews: Conduct briefings as directed by the Marine Manager (if applicable) and participate in interviews for potential Master or Chief Officer candidates, as well as those entering the organization.
- Accident Investigations: Conduct investigations into accidents and incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and implementation of corrective actions.
- Project Assignments: Handle projects or tasks assigned by the Marine Manager, ensuring timely completion and effective implementation.
- Command Experience: At least two years of command experience at sea.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of industry standards, guidelines, and international regulations.
- Operational Understanding: In-depth operational understanding of the vessel types under the Marine Superintendent's oversight.
- Auditing Experience: Experience and training in internal auditing.
- Incident Investigation: Expertise in incident investigation.
- Risk Management: Background in risk management with relevant education and experience.
- Marine Inspections: Skills and experience in marine inspections.
- Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work collaboratively with others and strong communication skills.
- Wet Fleet Experience: Proven experience in managing Wet Fleet (Tankers, etc.).
