About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Marine Surveyor to join our team at Charles Taylor. As a Marine Surveyor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and safety of ships and floating structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of materials and equipment to identify potential risks and report on findings.
  • Provide expert consultancy services to clients on maritime-related matters.
  • Carry out audits onboard ships and at client offices to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Perform desktop reviews to identify potential issues and provide recommendations.
  • Provide technical advice to clients on maritime-related matters.
  • Produce detailed reports on inspections and audits.
  • Attend to casualties and provide expert advice on mitigation and prevention.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on maritime-related topics.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Perform other duties as allocated by management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in H&M, P&I, MWS, Shipyard inspections, and prepurchase inspections within the Greater China region.
  • Established network and relationships within the local marine industry.
  • Prior career as Master Mariner or Chief Engineer with COC 1, Superintendent, Class surveyor, or Shipyard experience.
  • Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Ability to travel widely within Greater China and overseas, at short notice.
