Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical operations of our data centers at TKO and Secondary Data Center (SDC) at PCCW.
The HKEX Data Center in TKO is a Tier 4 data center supporting our trading platforms, corporate systems, and hosting services. The data center building also provides over 400 seats for ITD and CSD divisions as an office.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise outsourced technicians and maintenance contractors in carrying out day-to-day operation and preventive/corrective maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and energy-efficient operation of the data center, office premises, and secondary data centers.
- Supervise life cycle replacement, improvement, alterations, and additions works to ensure that they can be completed on time, within budget, and with good quality.
- Coordinate with the Building Management Office of secondary data centers on routine and ad hoc building maintenance works.
- Supervise routine and ad hoc Repair & Maintenance (R&M) works at secondary data centers performed by HKEX Data Centre maintenance services contractors and coordinate with Data Centre Operations (DCO) team on work scheduling.
- Monitor to ensure the environment of secondary data centers meet the SLA with Data Centre Operations (DCO) team.
- Assist in procurement management, vendor management, change management, work orders management, and inventory control for all technical related works as well as implementation of energy efficient initiatives.
- Conduct regular meetings with internal users and external vendors, attend emergency calls outside office hours, and supervise contractors' work during weekends and holidays.
- Degree or higher diploma/certificate in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 5 years solid experience in data center operator or specialist E&M contractor, possessing practical techniques in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repairing of chiller plant, computer room air-conditioner (CRAC), building management system (BMS), and critical electrical system including uninterruptible power supply (UPS), static transfer switch (STS), and power distribution unit (PDU).
- Registered Electrical Worker - Grade A or above.
- Self-motivated with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Candidates with less academic qualification but more practical experience will also be considered.
