Position Overview

Reports to: Lounge Duty Manager

As a key player in delivering exceptional service, the Lounge Bar Manager will oversee the operations of our bar area, ensuring that all customer interactions reflect the high standards of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited. The role involves fostering a welcoming atmosphere and maintaining compliance with established service protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Lounge Service Delivery Manager and Premium Service Team to create unforgettable experiences for our premium clientele and VIP guests.
  • Facilitate the performance management and growth of the front-of-house bar team through effective training, coaching, and task delegation.
  • Coordinate with the back-of-house team to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Provide outstanding customer service characterized by warmth and professionalism.
  • Supervise and guide bartenders and bar backs in their daily activities.
  • Ensure consistency in beverage preparation, presentation, and quality.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization within the work environment, ensuring all areas are well-maintained.
  • Monitor beverage stock levels and manage inventory effectively.
  • Adhere to safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards while implementing preventive maintenance protocols.
  • Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Stay informed about the latest regulatory and service requirements, ensuring alignment with operational standards.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the bar team.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of beverage offerings, including wines, spirits, cocktails, and teas.
  • Exhibit expertise in drink mixing, garnishing, and serving.
  • Assist guests with their orders and offer menu recommendations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of beverages and snacks in accordance with specifications.
  • Address custom drink requests and uphold customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Execute tasks as directed by Lounge Duty Managers, including supporting operational audits and managing incidents.
  • Possess post-secondary qualifications.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in lounge operations, catering hospitality, fine dining, or within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Relevant experience in catering hospitality and fine dining is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails; possessing relevant certifications is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and resilience in handling multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a flair for delivering outstanding service.
  • Availability to work shift duties, including overnight shifts.
