About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Consultant to join our team at Charles Schwab Hong Kong. As a Financial Consultant, you will play a critical role in providing access to US investments to individuals and families living outside the United States, meeting their financial needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide wealth management planning and advice to clients, assessing their suitability and delivering appropriate portfolio advice.
  • Develop and execute a local business plan to drive business development and generate new to firm households.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their financial goals and objectives, and providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Identify and recommend investment and educational seminars to prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with internal specialists to help clients fulfill their financial goals and dreams.
  • Engage with clients coming to Schwab primarily from Hong Kong but also overseas clients from the Asia Pacific Region.
Requirements
  • Degree holder in Finance, Economics or related discipline with CFA or CFP preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese, another language like Mandarin is preferable.
  • Well-developed communication skills in both written and oral English and Cantonese.
  • FINRA Series 7 license preferred (may be obtained within 180 days of employment).
  • Current and active SFC Licensed Representative in regulated activities.
  • 10+ years industry experience preferred in Brokerage, Asset Management & Banking.
  • Thorough understanding of US markets and various asset classes (equities, bonds, ETFs).
  • Desire to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Robust consulting, influencing and client engagement skills.
  • Proactivity and resourcefulness with the ability to balance service, risk/compliance policies and sales goals.
  • Ability to establish trust and rapport with a positive demeanor, and active listening.
  • Ownership mentality with desire for continual professional development.
  • Ability to adapt and implement change as the market and business conditions evolve.
  • Willingness to engage within the community.
  • Coach-ability; receive and implement feedback.
  • Aspirations for more than baseline expectations.
  • Strong public presentation skills to leveraged for events and webinars.
  • Willingness to collaborate and ideate to solution for issues involving cross functional teams (business development, operation, and compliance team).
