Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced lecturer to join our team at the Vocational Training Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of music and media production.
Key Responsibilities
- To perform teaching duties, including supervision of students' projects, musical performances, and fieldwork placements.
- To carry out duties related to student activities and academic administration.
- To develop program curriculum and teaching, learning, and assessment materials.
- To provide academic counseling and support to students.
- To assist in the validation and accreditation of programs.
- To participate in networking with industry partners and stakeholders, including music shows, graduation shows, seminars, and exhibitions.
Requirements
- A relevant recognized degree or equivalent qualification, preferably with a Grade 8 certificate in Piano or Guitar (ABRSM/Trinity/Rockschool).
- At least 3 years' full-time relevant teaching and/or industry experience.
- Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.
- Relevant experience in pop song production, including proficiency in pop song arrangement, composition skills in different genres, and expertise in pop song multi-track recording and mixing.
- Experience in live shows/events would be an advantage.
- Good records of linkage with the industry or solid work experience would be an added advantage.
Notes
- Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Term/Part-time (Day Time) Assistant Lecturer, which is at the rank of Teaching Associate.
- Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic/professional qualifications, or those with exceptional academic/professional qualifications but with less experience, may also apply.
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment.
- In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
- The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
