Job Title: Assistant Finance Business Partner

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting our business units and driving financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Director and People department teams to develop a financial awareness and business strategy.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business, its objectives, challenges, and key drivers.
  • Provide insightful business performance analysis and performance trending on a regular basis to support management decision making.
  • Support business case development for project investments applying appropriate financial analysis and risk assessment.
Financial Analytics:
  • Provide business performance analysis through the interpretation of results and explanation of drivers of variance (e.g. Monthly Reporting packs).
  • KPI Review: performance KPI review with BU and each Director on a regular basis.
  • Provide assistance to BUs in relation to cost monitoring and performance review.
  • Support DPPL team's review on horizontal costs across departments, Hong Kong and Regions.
  • Coordinate preparation of Annual/Interim Business Reviews presentations.
  • Support corporate transactions and ensuring technical account implications are aligned with financial reporting team.
Financial Planning:
  • Prepare budget and regular forecasts, including the annual budget and 3-year plan, and quarterly reforecasting (including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow, project related budget / forecast);
  • Meet with BUs to review forecast and budget numbers.
  • To assist with any other ad hoc budget analysis.
  • Led the team to perform financial digitalisation transformation initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Big four working experiences is preferred. Recognised CPA / Accountancy qualification is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years accounting related experience gained from a recognised audit firm.
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Cantonese/Chinese.
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel.
  • Experience in using SAP advantageous.
  • Strong communication skill to all levels in the organisation and agility to work within a team environment.
  • Strong analytics and reporting skills in producing reports, documentation and presentations.
  • A quick learner with the ability to work independently and be self-motivated and attentive to details.
