About the Role

As a Senior Underwriting Manager at TaiKang (Hong Kong) Preparatory Office, you will be responsible for leading and supervising a team to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) while driving initiatives to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. Your expertise in underwriting will be essential in reviewing and analyzing new insurance applications for risk exposure and compliance with guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Department Head in developing strategies to drive business growth and improve operations efficiency.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to streamline internal processes for seamless end-to-end service delivery.
  • Perform complex case assessments, reviews, and approvals as needed.
  • Negotiate with reinsurers for reinsurance-related matters.
  • Set up Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conduct quality control checks.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports to analyze trends and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Degree holder with professional insurance qualifications such as FLMI, ACS, ALU, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 8 years' solid underwriting experience in life insurance, with at least 4 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Underwriting medical authority of not less than extra mortality 100%, with high net worth experience preferable.
  • Experience in process management and transformation is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and ability to analyze data.
  • Strong sense of compliance, ethics, and integrity, holding oneself accountable for decisions and actions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Open to new ideas and suggestions, attentive to details, and willing to learn.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written Chinese, English, and Putonghua.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of HKD $120,000 - HKD $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
