The Investment Professional Development (IPD) team at Point72 is committed to fostering the growth and advancement of our investment analysts. This team is focused on enhancing professional investment skills aimed at driving exceptional alpha generation and refining team investment methodologies through the analysis, consolidation, and dissemination of best practices; training the investment team; and collaborating with partners across the firm to prepare analyses and data.
Role Overview
The Point72 Investment Professional Development Team is in search of a seasoned financial expert with a strong enthusiasm for coaching to assist in guiding and nurturing aspiring investment analysts within our Point72 Academy initiative. As the Academy International Manager, you will be instrumental in enhancing the training of our Academy Associates located in Europe, the UK, and Asia by developing and implementing tailored learning solutions. This role provides the opportunity to directly influence the program's curriculum: conducting research, analyzing data, coordinating training sessions, and organizing events while functioning within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leverage your extensive buyside expertise to mentor analysts in financial modeling techniques. Design, create, and deliver compliance-approved training content (both in-person and virtual) to enhance the core modeling, fundamental research, and analytical capabilities of Academy analysts. Conduct thorough company research to prepare compliant training materials, including reviewing news articles, sell-side reports, company filings, earnings transcripts, and more. Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes to ensure the training curriculum remains current and aligned with best practices. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Academy management and discretionary investment professionals, to align training initiatives with the organization’s overall growth strategy and objectives. Provide academic support and training to Academy analysts on investment theses, fundamental research, and pitching investment recommendations, including offering specific feedback on investment reports and models. Collaborate on curriculum planning and the execution of multiple concurrent classes and programs. Coordinate recruitment efforts with the Academy's recruiting team and assist in creating evaluation materials as necessary. Partner with Compliance to develop presentation materials for Academy marketing, recruitment, and reporting to Senior Management. Work closely with Compliance to ensure adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.Qualifications:
Over 10 years of experience in capital markets and/or learning and development within investment research, demonstrating a successful track record and strong skills in financial modeling and financial statement analysis. Fluency in English and Chinese; proficiency in Japanese is a plus. A strong passion for equity markets, investing, and the development and mentoring of others, including providing constructive feedback on investment processes and presentations. A keen interest in assisting individuals with varying skill levels to understand investing. Exceptional critical and analytical thinking skills. A clear communicator who understands their audience, provides transparency, and efficiently executes projects from inception to completion. A strategic and creative thinker capable of multitasking and re-prioritizing assignments while maintaining attention to detail.
